Let’s start by creating the essence of our gummies. In a pot, combine 2 cups of water with 4 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin and the gelatin of the flavor you have chosen. Place the pot in a double boiler to allow the gelatins to dissolve evenly.
When the gelatins are completely dissolved, add 1 kg of refined sugar. Stir continuously while the mixture reaches boiling point. Keep the heat on for about 5 minutes, making sure the sugar dissolves completely.
Once the mixture has reached its point, remove the pot from the heat and continue stirring for a few more minutes. This step will ensure the softness and desired texture of your homemade gummies.
Pour the mixture into a previously greased mold so that it is easy to unmold them later. Cover the mixture and let it rest for a whole day, allowing the gummies to acquire their characteristic firmness.
The next day, remove the firm gelatin from the mold and observe it with delight. Cut the gelatin into small pieces and shape it as you wish. You can opt for the classic shapes of bears, hearts or any figure that inspires you.
For a perfect finish, roll the gummies in sugar. This additional touch will not only enhance the sweetness, but will also add a nice texture to each bite.
